I think it's hard to tell what House feels, or doesn't feel about the things he does. On a professional level I think he totally backs himself, whether he's right or wrong he knows he's doing what he thinks is in the best interests of the patient. But as you say, personally is a different matter. I'd like to think he would feel some shame over domestic violence - because really, that's not what he's about, whereas he doesn't over the great plumbing caper.
