Honestly, it's pretty much the same as LJ. I think the big difference is in subscribing and access vs. friending. With DW, if you subscribe to someone's journal, you can read their everyday posts. If someone grants you access, you can read their "friends only" posts. And conversely, if you grant someone access, they can read your "friends only" posts.
I figured it was something like that - but 'granting access' sounds sort of scary, mind you I thought 'friending' was a bit intimidating too :) I'm just easily intimidated I guess :)
Well, and it's weird to be in a new place! It really is. And I won't lie -- Dreamwidth is a pretty quiet platform compared to LJ. I mean, really quiet. I hope we get more people, and if I can ever finish another story, I'll post it here.
Those of us who like to journal just gotta keep journaling. *g*
Yay - three people! I looked at my 'reading circle' thingy and there was like no posts in the last 14 days and then I realised I hadn't actually friended (or subscribed or whatever they call it here) to anyone :)
Yay - now I have to get into the habit of checking my DW 'reading circle' like I do LJ as everyone is moving here. Maybe we can liven the place up a little ;)
I'm here, too (but you know that already). I've essentially moved my entire blog over here -- all that's left on my LJ is the non-explicit stuff. I spent hours there yesterday, deleting everything that was smutty and/or kinky, so what's left is a very pared-down collection.
Now I just have to teach myself to check in both places!
