Foreman becoming Dean really did make very little sense... I think Cuddy was half right, most hospitals wouldn't want to employee House because of the potential legal problems (and damaged to hospital property!), but considering he had people coming from Cuba (?) to see him and had a huge number of fellowship applicants he must have some sort of professional reputation. And Foreman was reassuring some donor in the eight season that things would look up now Diagnostics was up and running so that's the theory I went with.
