But if House continues to do whatever the hell he wants with no regard to the proper hospital procedures (or best medical practices) then other patients may die, or House (and therefore Wilson) may be removed from the hospital by the Authorities, or the hospital may come under investigation... all things Cuddy wants to prevent. So she considers the loss of Wilson for a few days a small price to pay. It's a ruthless move, but maybe that's what you have to be to survive in that world.
Would it be better or worse I wonder if she ordered him whipped? (which is my usual thing in these sorts of fics :-) Or if she did it to House instead of Wilson (I think that's the most callous thing - to order punishment for a totally innocent man instead of the one committing the actual 'crime').
