Video created for the camp sick_wilson vid challenge . It's supposed to be only one minute long but it's a little over :)

The embed is from Youtube, and apparently the content is blocked for Australian and New Zealand viewers (ironically enough!). I tried to upload to photobucket but it wouldn't allow it either.

Here is a download link in case any of my fellow Aussies or Kiwis would like to see it

What Hurts the Most (21.21 MB)

First time I've tried this so please let me know if you can't see the video etc.

Summary - Wilson in the aftermath of Moving On

I can see it alright. You should have a warning "heartbreaking" for it, though. The song makes it even more so (as if RSL's acting needed any help).

Oh, I was hoping you would be around to let me know it works okay, thanks!

I hadn't rewatched Moving On and I didn't realise just how much pain Wilson was showing in this episode until I did this - fantastic work by the actor.

I'm not sure I'm more impressed by your video editing skills or by your willingness to rewatch Moving On. I haven't managed to do that.
I've been going through some old-season screencaps looking for pictures suitable for manips, and both HL and RSL leave me speechless by how much they can convey just in one facial expression. I suspect it's the basis for the vitality of the H/W fandom, despte TPTB repeatedly thumbing their nose at us.

I always knew that about HL but I don't think I truly appreciated RSL until I really looked at these scenes. So much better than some of the actors in other shows who have decided that one expression will pretty much see them through...

It's easier to notice HL because he just has so many more scenes than anyone else (especially focusing on his face). But RSL is doing so much in the time it has. The comparison with, say, OW in the short arc she had in S7 (where she got lots of screentime) is really not good for her.

Taub's imitation of Foreman on the happiest and saddest days of his life remains one of the highlights of the show for me:) But I think Foreman is meant to be like that :)

Do you ever feel like we're the only two people awake in the entire fandom around this time? lol

The British Islanders and Germans are awake (and your fellow Aussie Lady Inverness as well!). They're probably working (as I should be, but I work a lot outside work time, too).
But yes, it feels like we're alone in an enchanted castle :). [Maybe the image is influenced by the summer thunderstorm raging on here].

Great song choice! Is this the first H/W video that you've made? I like the slo mo effects.

Also, I never noticed before that House was nowhere near hitting Wilson when he jumped out of the way. So at least I can stop blaming him for the wrist.

Yes, other than a couple of family videos this is the first music video I've done. I love the song, I stumbled upon that by accident but I think it fits well.

Also, I never noticed before that House was nowhere near hitting Wilson when he jumped out of the way. So at least I can stop blaming him for the wrist.

Yeah, but if House hadn't been doing such a crazy and reckless thing he wouldn't have been hurt so I don't think I can give him a pass on that. It actually made me feel worse about what happened when I saw his scream of pain just before the car hits the house and then the pain he is in while the guy is splinting his wrist...sigh...

Thanks for viewing:)

Very, very well done for a first vid! And yes, *sniff* - very moving. Hope you'll do more of these :)

Thanks, glad you liked it:) I don't know about more, I enjoyed doing it but this very short one took sooo long to do:)

As much as I don't want to see those scenes again, I also can't get them out of my head. I have to go meta on the car/jump thing and say that they didn't want to race a car into a set too close to a stuntman, so they missed him by several feet (I give passes on things like RL safety issues, though you'd think they could have set some of the FX budget aside to make it more convincing). I got the impression that Wilson thought he needed to jump aside.

The vid is heartbreaking, and the song well chosen. The slo-mo was particularly affecting.

I'm glad that Wilson didn't *need* to jump out of the way - that would have meant House driving with a reckless disregard for Wilson's safety but I can't blame Wilson for panicking and jumping, I would too I think in those circumstances...

You did a great job with that.

Like nearly everyone else I was so astounded by what House did that I hadn't really watched Wilson closely until now. Even when I went super slowly to make my DVD Commentary fic I was still focused on House. It was incredible to watch Wilson this time because you can see both the mental and physical pain s clearly.

Great pairing of music and lyrics to the video. The black and white worked very well here too.

Thanks. glad you liked it! Yes, I really minimized the whole wrist thing in my head (when I first saw it I thought it might just be a sprain) but doing this really changed my perspective on that.

I watched this silently because my speakers were off. But it still conveyed so much! The part were House walks by Wilson as if nothing happened, and Wilson is staring at him in shock and physical pain--I wanted Wilson to do SOMETHING. It was so, so wrong.

I still blame House for the wrist. How would anyone be able to calculate the amount of feet needed for safety when a car's moving that fast? (Yes, I'm looking at you, David Shore.)

Yes, I still blame him too - the whole thing just makes me angry again, not just at what they had House do, but mostly I think at the fact that apparently the producers/writers and yes, even the actors, thought it was no big deal to drive a car into your ex girlfriends house. And with the ending scene they even showed it as a positive thing...grrr...

The ending scene of the beach has always been the sticking point for me about the episode! I can buy House driving a car into Cuddy's house; it was stupidly impulsive and reckless, which House definitely can be at times, and I really felt he was at wit's end at that point. Even the look of relief as he walked away was understandable, because catharsis does that to you.

But for that relief to linger for DAYS? Awful. UGH.

Which is to say, thank you for making this video. Cuddy had the worse done to her but Wilson was hurt (and abandoned) by House as well. : ( I only hope the producers remember that in Season Eight.

I think initially the producers weren't intending to have any serious consequences for House, I think their mind might have been changed by public opinion, but I doubt if they'll consider the damage to Wilson as something they need to address separately...

Thanks for watching the video and commenting:)

I think your use of the slowmo made it that much more heart wrenching. I like the difference of the black and white to the colour, and the song fits well too. Great for your first vid! :)

Well I can't really say anything that everyone else hasn't already said more eloquently above -- I TOO had sort of missed seeing Wilson's pain and RSL's extremely wonderful portrayal of it - I also hadn't been able to rewatch "Moving on" again - this vid just really brought things into focus for me. And the choice of song was really perfect. This is an awesome achievement!! *mems* <3
