Title: A Perfect Opportunity

Summary - Cuddy needs some comforting

Warning - Spoilers for Season 5 Finale

 

By the time Wilson got to the reception it was all but over. He waved a goodbye to Chase and Cameron with the rest of their guests and then turned back to the bar to grab himself a quick drink. Cuddy was there, holding Rachel and she came straight over to him. She took one look at him and the tears she had been supressing all day began to fall. Patiently he drew her up against him and held on tight.

"Shhh.. it will be okay Lisa, he’ll be fine, he’s getting the help he needs now."

"I know, its just so..."

"Yes, I know." He pulled back and brought out his handkerchief to wipe her tears away. "Come on, I’ll come back to your place with you and we’ll have a cup of coffee and I’ll tell you about it."

She nodded gratefully and within half an hour they were at her place and Wilson was brewing coffee and rustling them both up a snack while she settled Rachel down for the night.

When they sat down together she smiled at him.

"Thank you Wilson, you’re so thoughtful."

He smiled at her and patted her hand gently.

"Anything you need Lisa, I’m here for you."

She rested her head against his shoulder and closed her eyes, exhausted. Wilson smiled to himself, stroking her hair. With House away maybe this was the perfect opportunity to get a bit closer to Lisa

After all, she seemed like she needed someone.

double_dealing!Wilson Very nice.
Just a few questions. Where are they? Why is Cuddy particularly upset? ie Is she missing House the doctor or House the man?
And something you should know: the font for this story preview isn't visible on a white background. I would edit it and change it to default font.

Its set just after the season 5 finale just after Wilson gets back from taking House to the hospital, so Cuddy is upset about the whole House having a breakdown thing.

Thanks for the tip about the font, I knew I screwed it up somehow when I was posting but thought I'd fixed it but obviously not! I think its okay now. (Sometimes it takes me longer to get the posting of these things right than it takes to write the story - I'm a bit of a LJ novice!)

I always mess up the font, too. I suggest if you copy and paste your previews, don't do it directly out of your journal or a community, which I've noticed can force a certain color font. Use word or open office to manipulate the font color. It's so much easier.
