Double Drabble : Birthmark
Feb. 29th, 2012 08:36 amTitle: Birthmark
Characters: House/Wilson
Rating: R
Spoilers: For 8.14 - Love Is Blind
Words: Double drabble - 200
Summary: After the events of 8.14 Wilson is curious about one puzzling thing, he investigates further.
Wilson lay in bed, one hand gently caressing House.
"You know, there's one thing I don't understand. If Thomas isn't your father why do you have the same birthmark as him, down there?" Wilson glanced down towards where his hand was lying, right on the strawberry shaped birthmark.
House was responding to his touch, and he pushed himself up into Wilson's hand.
"I... shit Wilson, keep doing that... don't."
Wilson looked at him and confusion and went in for a closer examination. A hot tongue came out and lapped at the birthmark, causing it to smudge and House to moan and buck.
"I just put that there so he would think I was his son." House said, his voice deep and rough.
Wilson kept licking at the red splotch on House's skin and then paused.
"But why would... "
"So I had an excuse to show you of course, I knew once you saw little Greg you wouldn't be able to keep resisting me. Now shut up talking and... " He groaned as Wilson put his mouth to much better use.
Any further talk about birthmarks was lost in the moment.

Date: 2012-02-28 10:49 pm (UTC)Of course I love to think that the humungous epidermal nevus on the side of my nose is a direct inheritance from my beloved gran, together with a taste for very coarse language.

Date: 2012-02-29 07:43 am (UTC)The only explanation for the puzzling birthmarks I could come up with was that Thomas and Blythe are related (unbeknownst to them obviously) and that House has the birthmarks because Blythe's father had them.
I would love to hear your theory if you would like to share it :)

Date: 2012-02-29 08:46 am (UTC)To me the two matching birthmarks and the timing of Bell and Blythe's affair seem conclusive that Bell is House's biodad. But tptb live to tease at the expense of creating a semblance of a normal reality.
So, what if the master manipulator, Blythe, also noticed Wilson stealing the fork? Feeling protective of her son, she is, a) Aware of House's resentment-Oedipal complex toward Bell, and b) Knows how much House hates change. She goes to Wilson and asks him not to run the paternity test or for the results to be negative. Wilson suspects if Blythe spotted him taking the fork, so did House, so he swaps utensils (perhaps from the cafeteria or the doctor's lounge) and submits one used by himself or someone else.

Date: 2012-02-29 09:00 am (UTC)It crossed my mind that Wilson might be lying but I couldn't really see why he would - but he would if Blythe asked him to....
I really don't buy the picture of Blythe this episode was trying to sell us either but maybe I just have this '60s housewife' image fixed in my mind too firmly....
I wonder if House is going to tell Bell he isn't his father after all.

--I don't either. I got the feeling Kelley tried slipping us some sleight of hand. Because Blythe was a blithe spirit (lol!) in the sixties she was also a free spirit in the 50s? Possible but unlikely. Assuming House is HL's age, he was conceived in '57 or '58. The mindset was a whole lot different than '66--very conservative. But there were beatniks. I should think John House wouldn't have been attracted to her if she was a Greenwich Village type. And if she were a beatnik-turned-hippie, why did she transform into a quiet housewife and stay married to John? Not impossible, of course, but then again, DS says people don't change.
Okay, I'm utterly confused.

Date: 2012-02-29 11:03 am (UTC)What struck me most about how strange this episode was (in regards having Billy frigging Connolly as House's potential da!!) was that even he didn't live up to expectation, never mind Blythe. He was supposed to be an exceptionally dull Sean Connery lookalike who Wilson again later referred to as James Bond.
And I'm not even going to get started on how much they changed Blythe too because your good self and srsly_yes pretty much challenged/summed everything up there word perfect.
It has just occured to me, we've watched an episode where Chase was a rabbit and Taub was floating about in a dress and fairy wings... and neither of these to images are what's strange about "Love is Blind." :S
I'm glad you wrote this, it's given me much to think about as well as being a v. enjoyable read :D It's also more believable that this would happen - at this point - than anything else given how Wilson was most certainly not embarrassed into looking away at the table. Cheers for sharing :)

Date: 2012-02-29 11:13 am (UTC)Yeah, as soon as I heard Billy Connolly was playing House's 'dad' I thought, but he's supposed to be some boring minister guy who looks like sean connery? This was a complete retconning of most of what we knew about House's family in my opinion.
Wilson's expression at the dinner table was pricelss, oh, ho hum, my best friend is unzipping, oh well, let's go with it! I'm surprised he didn't lean in for a closer look.
(How big is this birthmark anyway? House spotted it on 'dad' as he made a dash for the bed, from the doorway! And why did Blythe open the hotel room door while Thomas was still standing around naked...Oh, it was a fun episode, shouldn't try and make sense of it!
Thanks for reading!
