Summary: Just a small conversational drabble as an alternative ending to the scene in this promo for 8.13.





"Wait... wait... what?"

"I don't sleep with married men."

"You don't sleep with married men. So you do sleep with... "

"Yes."

"And you won't sleep with me because I'm married? Not because I'm..."

"That's right."

"So if I... you'll... ?"

"Of course."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously."

"Stay there. I'll be back."

"Where are you going?"

"To see a man about a divorce."

"Wait House, don't forget - everybody lies."

"Damn, I knew there was a catch."

"I really don't care if you're married."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously."

"Lock the door."

(Fade to black)

I read this and my reaction was pretty much the same as the first line you've written. Wilson says that?! So I watch the promo and wow!

Dialog(UE) fics - that's what they're called, I forgot :) I just made up 'conversational' for it :)

I love the way you wrapped it up with the 'seriously' bit. That is one of my favorite canon dialog exchanges.

I think we all thought "Seriously!?" when Wilson said that in the sneak peek.

This is great, but I think because House is a fast thinker, he'd be quicker to jump into the conclusion of "BRB, getting a divorce!" without any questions asked.

So my version of that conversation would go something like this:

Wilson: "I don't sleep with married men."
House pauses, looks to his upper right, makes one of his epiphany faces that just says "Oh! I get it!" and walks out the door.

Wilson, hunching over his desk, looks up from his papers and tightening his eyebrows asks: "Where are you going"

House, having walked through the door, peeks back in by bending himself backwards and playfully quips: "Getting a divorce."

While House walks out, Wilson is looking to his upper left, puzzled, eyebrows crunched. Suddenly he has a look that seems to say "Oh!" He immediately looks back, holding a suspecting, ponderous gaze on the nearby ceiling. Soon he lowers his head to do his paperwork, flashing a little smile.

LOL - I can visualize House bending back in the door and saying that :)

Maybe we should have a challenge for different versions of that conversation :)There's this little pause after WIlson says his 'married men' line and you can just see House thinking about what wilson just said...
